About the author

Thomas Engström (born 1975) trained as a lawyer. He is a regularly contributor to media outlets such as Svenska Dagbladet, Fokus, and Axess. Engström has translated upwards of 20 books from English, including works by Barack Obama, Ian Kershaw, Mark Bowden, and Walter Isaacson. Engström left Sweden in 2015 and is now a global nomad.

Literature can be a powerful force for good. As a response to the climate crisis, the Gothenburg Book Fair has asked renowned authors from around the world to write protest signs that are available for anyone to use. So that you can tackle the greatest challenge of our time, with words from the greatest writers of our time.

All signs are free to download and use in protests. But please consider donating to our partner the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation. To learn more about the Gothenburg Book Fair and this year’s theme – the climate crisis – please visit our website bokmassan.se.
